Simply plug in the transmitter, and it emits a constant radio signal from an adjustable 5 to 90-feet in all directions. Full set-up typically takes less than an hour, and no installation, no wire burying, and no stakes are required - ideal for portable installations or people who relocate frequently.

To begin, temporarily define the pet area with boundary flags for a visual aid in training the pet. The animal also wears a receiver collar with contact points touching the neck. When the pet strays into the warning zone the receiver collar gives a warning beep. If the pet continues into the warning zone, a safe, static correction is delivered through the contact points until the animal returns to the safe pet area.

The transmitter, which measures 8-1/2 by 9 by 9 inches, features an "on/off" switch, a boundary-control dial, a "high/low" switch, and a power indicator light. Measuring 1 by 2 by 1 inches, the waterproof receiver collar uses a 6-volt battery and includes interchangeable long and short contact points, a 25-second safety timeout, a screw-off cap covering the correction-level button, and a low-battery indicator light.

The receiver's design also provides a concave interior wall (side facing the throat) and curved washers for comfort. The pet-containment system should be used with dogs six months or older, and a set-up and training manual comes included.

The G-PET023 From GSI is an invisible dog fence which enables you to keep one or more dogs in complete freedom within a perimeter defined by you without the need for an ugly containment fence. An unlimited number of receiver collars can be used with one perimeter wire so you can contain as many dogs as you wish safely in the same area. The GPET023 is adaptable to all types of terrain: open, wooded, hilly, fenced or unfenced.

How does it work? A discrete perimeter wire is placed in the ground, and this wire carries a signal from a small transmitter unit. The dog wears a discrete receiver collar that receives a signal when he approaches the perimeter wire. When you dog first approaches the wire he enters the warning zone and is warned by a beep from the collar. As he gets closer to the wire he enters the correction zone and is corrected by small electrical impulses. As he leaves the area the impulses stop. After a few days, as the dog learns the boundary the electrical impulses can be reduced and the collar used to emit sound beeps only.
